Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Quark or Indesign... that is the question.
I currently work for a company that puts out over 30 (48-64 pages) 8.5'x10' catalogs a year, as well as small print jobs. We currently work on Quark Xpress 4 and were looking for some imput on what would be best for our kind of work? Is the upgrade to 6 worth it, or would Indesign be more useful?
Thanks for any help!

I think this question holds the record for 'Most times asked'!!
Allen, is there any way to make a 'sticky' Quark vs. InDesign post that folks could refer to?
Anyway,
I'd vote ID. But that's just me...and everyone else who likes to work faster and more efficiently.

I guess another thing I would like to know is what everyone else doing as far as what projects are you involved with that make you feel one is better than another?

Layout is layout.
It doesn't matter if it's a crappy low budget brochure or a highly funded 50 page annual report.
You use the same tool...whether it be Quark or ID or Illustrator, etc.

I'm new here, so I'll comment on this one time...InDesign!

An interview with David Blatner, author of 'Real World QuarkXPress' and 'Real World InDesign,' and the pre-eminent expert on QuarkXPress for the last ten years. In it he talks about both Quark and InDesign, and their respective futures:
