Hi Mike B, welcome to the forum!

are all the elements on the same layer? Try grouping them, and then resizing.

Also, if you select object > transform > scale, make sure that you have checked the box for "scale stroke and effects".

You should really go to Preferences>General and make sure "Scale Strokes and Effects" is checked off. Otherwise, if you just pull a resize handle, your strokes and effects won't scale correctly.

It's an option not a default.

I'm glad it helped! I had a similar problem when I first started using Illustrator.

I hope that you'll stick around. This is a great place. :)

I like making sure that any strokes in a finalized logo are converted to outlines (Object>Path>Outline Stroke). This eliminates the need to see if the scale strokes and effects box is checked or not - and keeps OTHERS from screwing up your logo!

You are a golden god! I've worked in Illustrator for 5 years, and I have never found that yet. You don't know how much time I could have saved by using that. That small little tool will make my illustrator designs so cleaner and easier. Thanks and to think I didn't even read this thread.

Converting strokes to outlines...
That's the way it should be done. Now if I could just get you guys to "outline stroke and weld" the text and shapes you put a stroke on to make "bolder/fatter" I will be a happier sign guy.

Is there another way of doing it? LOL

I suppose next you'll tell me my design shouldn't be made using 52 spot colors. Pfffsssshhh!

Golden God - I like the sound of that. Bronze god will work too. Yeah this place rocks for finding out stuff about the programs you didn't know - Like being able to transform pattern elements within a shape by holding the ~ key? I had no idea. And I thought this was a waste of time. Pfffsssshhh!

52 colors? Bring em on! I charge by the color.

Maybe not the most direct or possibly most accurate way of whacking everything down to shapes is to bring it into Flash and break apart until it don't break apart no more. Then export back as AI and recolour (only RGB!). (Don't try that with 52 spot colours though!)
