Hi Guys , Coley here from the UK.
I desperately need some words of wisdom regarding what is the staple on approach.
Ill try to keep this as brief as possible. I never got a chance a few years back to do any courses on Graphic Design but being someone who was always drawing and creating as a kid I kept one foot in the world of this art.:)
I have worked for the PGA and designed cinema sets for films like Harry Potter etc .;) check www.brilliant-media.com/work_potter.htm (http://www.brilliant-media.com/work_potter.htm)
I landed these jobs by being upfront and taking my portfolio with me whilst working delivery driving jobs.
I still work for these guys as and when work comes through, however, a few months back I left my job to work less hours with the view of eventually working full time as a graphic designer.
Heres where I need help.
1:- Do most agencies look for graduates and people in their early 20's?
2:- How would you expect me to present my work to you. ( in a typical scenario)?
3:- Here in the UK ,aswell as Design Week, what other resources are there in terms of publications and web sites.
4:- ........and finally , what is "the art book" that a friend of friend was telling me about saying I should try to get my work in there?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated and thank you very much indeed in advance:cool:
