document layout and master pages

I have 2 issues when trying to insert master pages in a document.

When i insert master page B in the beginning or middle of a job, all the pages after it get duplicate master pages pasted behind the text. I have to go into each page and delete the extra text and picture boxes. I just want to add one page without manipulating the whole document. Am I making a mistake when i create master pages?

also the other thing that happens is when the pages are reflowed after the insertion of hte new master page, art boxes sit outside the pages. Like the don't go with the flow. What up with that?

I think I know what you are talking about. . .

on your master page you have created text boxes.
in you document you have placed text into those boxes
then you've inserted a page that causes the rest of the docuement to shift
(page 4 is now 5, page five is now 6, etc.)

Once text is inserted into a text box that is on your master page and the page moves or you re-apply the page layout to it, the page resets. so any place you have put text (from the master page) a blank box appears behind it.
