I would like some help here. I'm doin a layout in quark and I'm having problems retaining the transparency when I print to PDF. The people I'm doin this for don't want a quark file, so all I can give them is PDF. When I've laid a few images out, they have no background in quark (that is to say I've left the box fill none, so windows in the images are there), but the box shows up white in acrobat. Can anyone tell me what settings I might be missing for this to occur?

much appreciated

Without taking a look at the pdf file don't know why this could be happening. What type of images are they?

Ugh, this has happened to me so many times. Make sure you're saving as an Acrobat 5 not 4. That cleared up the issue for me anyways.

I don't have acrobat 5, I'm on 6. The images are illustrator EPS...it seems that was the only way for me to place them in Quark as transparency...any other I've tried won't work and shows the white box in quark aside from EPS. So this is pretty frustrating, and since I'm in no contact with printers I've only been asked to send as PDF. Really gotta figure this one out. Any more help would be appreciated.
