I have read a lot on here about portfolios, resumes, etc and have decided to re-work my resume, online portfolio, presentation and overall professional "image" of myself. I don't do freelance anymore but still like to present my work for potential employers, even though I'm employed full time.

First things first. My personal logo. This will be my basis/foundation for the theme of my resume & portfolio. I have a theme in mind but I'm wondering whether I should use my first and last name for the logo or come up with an interesting name, as if I was freelancing?

What have you all done? Any examples would be wonderful to see.

normally i'd say an interesting name is the way to go but if you really are just showing your stuff to potential employers and don't want to get back into freelancing I'd just use your name. That way there's no confusion who you work for etc. i'ts just "Panda Bamboo Bear's" resume and portfolio...

Generally if you have a logo on your resume, and the company you are interviewing with has a thing against freelancing or moonlighting, it could be a strike against you. Careful where you use it.

I don't want anything "fancy". I just want something simple that I may expand on in my online portfolio.
Maybe I should create a simple "text" logo with no graphical elements for my resume only and then create a fancier logo that I can use for my site only. Any thoughts on that one?

Vikia - I meant to ask you...why a panda?

Pandabear - A friend of mind did a really neat job with his resume and a single shoe print. He used different types of shoe prints to represent different feels. If he knew they would be looking for a hard worker he would use a work boot print. If he knew they were a laid back type place he might use a sneaker print. I really dug the idea. Hopefully that gets the ideas going.

I would just go for a clean text thingy on your CV. Maybe on the site go a bit more creative.

A drop shadow would be nice.
