Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : CGI in Dreamweaver (Perl)?
I'm new to graphic/web design and I have a website (paid someone to have it made) that uses a CGI script written in Perl. I'm just getting familiar with dreamveaver and I've noticed that some of the links on my site point to a file "/cgi-bin/store.cgi". As far as I can tell, Dreamweaver can't display that page. Is therea plug in or anyrhing I can get to edit this page.
Thanks in advance

well perl is not graphic its a script so dreamweaver (i maybe wrong) cannot display a graphic depiction of it. However it might be able to display the script. You should be able to take that file change the extension .cgi to .txt and open it in simple text editor...
if you dont really know dreamweaver then I am guessing you really dont know html then I am guessing you dont know perl....so I would suggest finding a tutorial or book to help

You should be able to edit that in Dreamweaver if you are in the coder mode (looks more like a text editor). store.cgi contains a script, and the only way to edit it is by hand. If you don't know perl and it is working, you shouldn't mess with it. Otherwise you will be paying your designer to fix it for you.

i tried to open a php script on DW and it made 'formatting' to it....
a little box popped up and said ' something format complete' so i figured DW didnt open it correctly
