i just got my hands on a copy of adobe indesign 2.0. my problem is that i've never worked in layout programs so far but i wanna learn it.

now my question is if anybody has a finished indesign document that he/she would give me for exploring. doesn't have to be anything special... just some formatted text or so.

again i'll just use it for learning purposes ... don't worry about me stealing any work from you :)

cheers, that would be a great help.

i think the first things to learn, if you haven't already, are paragraph/character styles and the concept of links. they will get you rollin

I heard that there was this ninja who was eating at a diner.* And when some dude dropped a spoon the ninja killed the whole town.

yup ... igot familiar with styles already ... but what's the use of links? keep in mind i only want to use it for prepress and stuff, not for making large pdf docs.

master pages seem to be pretty useful aswell.

In InDesign: 'Links' are the routes to files that are imported into your document (photos/graphics/imported text), the 'Hyperlinks' are your web links (that aren't useful in the prepress area).

Oh, I LOVE masterpages. Plus, if you want your page to have the masterpage style, but want only one (or a few) item(s) removed or changed you can just ctrl+shft (I'd assume command+shift for the Mac, but I'm not sure about that one) click on it and you can edit it or delete it.

Don't forget the most important thing which is CMYK images at 300 DPI.

Good luck and knock your self out.
