I had a huge problem with Quark 6.5 crashing on one of my client's files. I would hold down option for the grabby tool to scrub thorough the document, and it would crash on 80% of their (800 or so) files. You can read about the whole saga here (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9663).

Anyway, it wasn't a font problem it was an improperly drawn/broken image preview!! I broke down, and went to quark.com's forums and emailed tech support in a last ditch effort to save my sanity. Anyway, the whole Quark reply can be found here (http://www.quark.com/service/forums/viewtopic.php?p=39051#39051). Bottom line, hold Command+ file>open, to force re-import images. Worked like a charm!!

Thanks for posting that Jason.
I like answers better than questions.

hmmmm. Interesting. Having the same problems with a document. Was built and printed fine, customer had one miniscule change but when we went to open it quark quits unexpectedly. Tried on 3 different macs, all quit. I attempted the command+file>open but quark still quit. Are you suppose to hold down the command key until the file is fully open or release the key after you select the document to open?

I know this is an old thread but I thought I'd post my 2¢.
I couldn't get this to work either on a catalog file that when saved would crash Quark 6.5 on my G5, so any changes made could not be saved.
However, it appears that the "Thumbnail drag and drop" to a new file has solved the issue, though I won't know for sure until further testing.
