I haven't tried to shoot any yet so i grabbed my tripod and took some shots off my balcony, not too bad for a first attempt:)

Thats pretty cool, did you do any post-effects on those lights or did they give you that cool starburst look?

Idaho-Here's the camera Specs Shot in RAW

Camera Model Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT
Shooting Mode Manual Exposure
Tv(Shutter Speed) 13
Av(Aperture Value) 22.0
Metering Mode Center-Weighted Average Metering
ISO Speed 800
Lens Sigma APO Macro DG 70.0 - 300.0 mm
Focal Length 300.0 mm
White Balance Mode Tungsten
AF Mode Manual focusing

-I'm particaularily proud of this shot because i did very little post production, adjusting the levels a wee bit to get the image a little darker. I'm not sure how i got the effect I would presume it's because of the slow shutter speed.

THanx for the comments guys:)

Amazing shots, yet again Tyger! You are really eating this camera up.

I love the burst effect too. That's really cool and gives it character.

nope, actually i've been asking around why i'm getting this effect. Most of the responses i've gotten say that it's a combination of the apeture at 22, if it was less i would get less star trails. Also the Shutter at 13, but i don't understand how the shutter causes this effect. Someone said that the trails are the result of the corners of the shutter.....which i don't know what that means:)

Neuro- Thanx bro, i'm really enjoying this camera man...it's good enough for a beginner to intermediate, lot's of features and the ability to grow with it.

You know D-zine, i'm really happy with my zoom lense. I live in North York, which is probably a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Toronto, I live on the 17th floor and as you can see i can get a good view of the CN Tower from my balcony zoomed in at 300mm:)

Ok, because I've seen that effect from a star filter, that's why I ask
