Hiya,

I'm new to the forum, hope this is the appropriate forum for this post!

Basically, my uncle is a photographer, i've designed a web site for him, www.willwheelerphotography.co.uk (http://www.willwheelerphotography.co.uk) (i'm more of a coding kinda person, not so much graphics...) but anyway...

He wants a template, which he can choose say 7 images, and insert them into it.

All the template needs to do is define the layout, e.g. one large image with 6 smaller images below in a line along the bottom of the image with thin white boarders...

I've tryed doing something in adobe photoshop cs (well, after looking at the help files imageready cs was the program i used) - i tryed using varaibles etc but after inserting a couple of 3008x2000 images my computer just gound to a halt :(

Its only an amd 1800 with 256mb ram, but there must be a way of doing the job without killing the computer :)

Any help or advice or alternate software suggestions, links to tutorials etc would be appriciated :)

thanks!

- Chris

You could make a template in InDesign, Quark, or Illustrator, but that would take working knowledge of such programs..... anyone know of a way to do it in PS???

Is this going to be like a web template?

nope not a web tamplate, just a remplate for creating jpeg images, approx 3000x2000. Ideally what i'd like is a program with a similar interface to powerpoint, e.g. 'Click here in insert a picture' etc, is there any software that can do this, or just have sample images in place, where the source picture can be easilly changed...

thanks for the help so far, i'm going to try indesign/quark :)

Make an action in Photoshop to format them into a new directories and then run the root directory through the action.

Does that make any sense to you?
