I just have to share what my friend Valerie Martin Stuart (graphic designer) in Dallas and her sister and friends are doing.
http://rollingduffelproject.blogspot.com/

Valarie lives lives 15 minutes away from the Reunion Arena in Dallas where families have been evacuated to. She saw families toting what little they had in black trash bags. She saw a need for a rolling duffle to give them something to organize the few belongings they have. On her own with her sister and friends, they have purchased and supplied over 30 duffles and are going to continue as long as the need is there.

I have donated to this project and so has other graphic designer friends. Every single penny is going to the evacuees in the form of a very needed rolling duffle.
I can tell you that Val is one very dedicated and wonderful, caring person and is working tirelessly to help if she can.

I think it is a very worthy project and I hope you will consider sponsoring a duffle or two. It is one way that you can touch the lives of these truly needy families. If you can't help, its okay, I had to ask though.

I also know Val and can tell you that she's a very caring, giving, passionate & compassionate person. I donated what I could, and intend to donate more. I also spread the word on 3 of my blogs -- it's another way to help Val help others if you don't have the cash or if you've already donated. The response to their creative idea has been overwhelming, and it's no surprise ... they're doing a GREAT thing and are tireless in their efforts.

Thanks for posting this Viki! :)

I dropped Val an email and told her about the Photo Restoration Project that folks here are offering. I told her to let us know if anyone needs our help.
