Yup, I think we as americans should stand up, take control.
Our constitution gives us the right to an assembly, unfortunetly this govt of ours doesn't play by the rules founded by our countryman.
Tack up another one for our irate govt actions.....meanwhile, in a land far far away, we are still losing soldiers.
Is the end of American freedom gone? Maybe not yet, just wait till China has their way with us.
Oh yeah, and since im on the subject of our govt sucking, everyone should read a book called "Everything you know is wrong" hence my sig. Pick it up at Barnes and Noble for $10, it is an informational, disinformation guide with footnotes to back up the real facts.
Americans, are lets face it...stupid. We vote thinking its actually doing anything, pick up this book and you will realize just how far down the rabbit hole goes.

on a side note, not really related, a good friend of mine who is a fire fighter, said some of the guys at this station that went to help in the hurricane, described the looters as "targets" who were shot with sniper rifles in the middle of the night.
it seems our govt. decided it would be neat to send in special forces to assasinate looters.
anyone else see anything wrong here?

wow.
I think it was Einstein who said "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
People never cease to amaze me.

actually, maybe it's not even human stupidity. Maybe it's human selfishness... particularly among those in power.

Damn, D-Frag. This sh¡t is fuçked the fuçk up.
I'll have to check out that book. Have you read, "What's the matter with Kansas?" My roommate just finished it. It's next on my list.
Did you ever hear anything more about that party in the dessert that was shut down?

Seems like you can lump people who join law enforcement into three groups, the morally strong people generally wanting to make a difference, powertripping fools, and guys that just want to pick up chics with the uniform.

nah man haven't read it, but im on a manhunt for finding any disinformation books now.
did you guys know their were actually 5 guys involved in Columbine? the book I mentioned above has a web link to the 1300 page police report. I find it truly amazing that the media can decide what we view and read. Im half tempted to start a disinformation newsletter and publish it every month. This kind of information should be free to anyone who wishes to read the TRUTH, In fact I would go as far to say that the decline of America is almost a 50% blame on the 3 major media giants. The other 50% would be our govt, their crappy decisions throughout history, which in turn will lead us into one of the most scariest, and deadly invasions in the history of the world. If you think Rome fell suddenly, wait till you see whats coming at us.
I would go into greater detail, but I don't feel like being investigated by the FBI or secret service, but go buy the book and you will know what im talking about ;)
This is why I prefer to read blogs and alternative (and sometimes foreign) news sources to get information. It's amazing the contrast between what I read every morning on my "rounds" and then what I see on the nightly news. *scare me!*

I'm with EC - I try to find the original "source" of anything I am reading to begin with. I have found so much crap passed off as news anymore that it really is a "reader beware" news culture now. If you don't actually try to find the source...by the time you get the filtered version from any number of supposed news agencies you only get the "spin" they want to promote.
I guess you just have to be cognizant that as a consumer of news, you must also consider the source (and their motives) at all times.

Funny, my husband and I were taking about the need for just such a publication, calling it "media watchdog."
I'm interested in this book - make sure you pay cash for it tho. I know people who have bought books with their credit cards or bank cards or by check and got on the "watch list" because of the book they bought!

oh yeah, im way ahead of them on that note, although im sure me publishing this information on a public forum just added me to their "Watch list" if I wasn't already on it, im no stranger to jail lets put it that way, just know if I don't post here for like a month, something probably happened ; )
haha, yeah I payed cash, and I never rent library books with any kind of disinformation, because thats another catch, I also don't order online.
So yeah, if you start one up, let me know, I would love to write some pieces for you.

The media problems don't end with just corrupt government practices. I'm probably on a list because I spend about an hour a day fighting BSL - breed specific legislation. I write emails and send letters and call legislators, governors, congresspeople, you name it. We didn't win in Denver, where people's family dogs were taken away from them - these people who had good dogs, house dogs, had them registered and had county tags, they were the first to lose their family pets.
There is a lot of misinformation out there about pit bulls - these are the dogs I and many other people are trying so hard to save. You may have heard of the 2-pit bull attack and killing of a 2 year old girl last spring. The paper said the dogs were loving family dogs and that the girl had been raised around them. Wanna know what the police report said? The dogs were starvingly thin (every rib), had been kept in a basement, both were intact, the female was in heat and they both had RAT POISON in their systems.
Oh yeah, it's the DOG that's bad.

Anyway - my college degree is actually in journalism, not graphic design. I see problems in how the media reports things every day - things that fuel the fires, and things that are not reported about our leaders that should be.
I find I cannot watch the news, read the papers, cnn.com or anything else for more than a month before I have to take a break and not look anymore. I get so angry.
Oh and people think the Great Depression was bad? Wait till folks figure out what kind of tidal wave is set to hit us.
