Another Dissertation Idea.

Ok, my friend needs some input on here ideas, she is starting her dissation and has some odeas but needs a good question/argument.

Here ideas:

The difference between tv channel idents, which channel is most successful and why are difference so contrasting.
The change and shift of the ident design of the BBC - why are there so many sub channels, each with different idents?
And why has the BBC got rid of the actual number 1?
The sucess of channel 4's new idents, who are they aimed at...looking into E4/Channel4...
Do different channels different idents reflect what type of programs that channel showsd...eg, channel 1's ident is more cultured, or are they just trying to appeal to a different audience.
Idents: what is there use and how useful are they??
Do idents succesfully reflect the viewers that are most likely to watch the channel and what is the connection between the 2?

These are interesting questions... it sounds like your friend's argument can be composed from her questions you have posed in your post. The best advice for her is probably to sit back and think about what her original impetus was to tackle this line of thought.
