Hi i'm 16 studying graphic design at college. i ideally want to go onto university and study a degree in illustrating. I love designing characters and letters and i am also very much into graffiti which helps with my own individual style. i was wondering what its like as a graphic designer and if its a smart route 2 take.:)

most designers that I know do it because they love it - not because it is a really high paying - or well respected - job.

Prepress is a vocation.....design is something you can't help, it just seems to happen. If you have an eye.... go for it. In my prepress years and even now dealing with every ad agency on the planet it seems, there's good designers who have never gone to school for it, as well as bad ones with degrees. Techniques can be learned but talent is the lithmus test.
