Well though i've been more than %100 satisfied with my digital rebel, I miss having a point and shoot for those random moments in life where a decent point and shoot camera would come in beneficial... any suggestions? I am partial to canon but open to others.

Olympus has some good point and shoots. Even some they advertised as water proof.
you put your rebel on the auto setting. Plus if you carry it around you're bound to get all the chicks. It also doubles as a good wepon, maybe not quite heavy enough.

I've never gotten any chicks... probably wrong state or something?

its a good conversation starter, except when you've got your telephoto lens on and they ask if you're compensating for somthing.

yeah, i still love my rebel and take it out whenever I'm going to "shoot" but I want p&s for those random every day situations where it would be fun to have a camera.
I'm looking at the Canon SD550, the Nikon S3, & the Nikon P2

Canon SD400 - fantastic. Fits into an empty pack of cigerettes and is a 5 MP

I'm almost sold on the Nikon S3... but Neballer the price and quality of the SD400 makes it pretty tempting... I've always shot canon, but I like nikon too... I went and played with all of these cameras at National Camera the other day... but I'm still deliberating...

I'm a Nikon gal myself but they're are some good p&s canons out there as well. Here's a link to reviews on p&s canons:

It's the sexiest camera that can fit in your pocket. :D

I actually just ordered a Kodak Easyshare Z740 today. It was advertized as being a p&s camera. For a 5MP and 10X optical zoom/5X digital zoom camera, the price really isn't that bad.
