Hello,

I haven't posted much here but really like this forum, it's not all wrapped up cg/3d everything. Anyway, I am currently unemployed, looking for a new position. I was working as a "marketing coordinator" doing a lot of print design. I've recently created a portfolio website to go along with resumes I'm sending out. I have an Associate degree from a "tech" school here in Pittsburgh, where I live.

I would really appreciate your comments on the site, it's design/layout and most importantly, the dozen samples I have posted. It's primarily material from my last employer (I am missing a lot of material, I didn't back it up and didn't have access to it after leaving). I have some personal projects also and am working on adding more.

Basically, I would like to know based on what I have here, would you call me for an interview? I could really use the professional, objective criticism to help me in my job search.

I've added a small preview of the front page:

Hi Aaron, welcome to the forum. I moved this to our "Showcase" section which is the place for critiques. Enjoy your stay. http://home.comcast.net/~rnick9/koolsmiley.gif

Hey, sorry I posted it in the wrong forum. I was looking for a "portfolio" type of forum and must have missed the Showcase one.

thanks,
Aaron

No worries, Be patient on your site and work replies. This place gets pretty dead on weekends but goes crazy during the week. http://home.comcast.net/~rnick9/koolsmiley.gif

Welcome to the forum! We all get drunk and crazy, and we expect that you do the same! :p

A suggestion, and maybe someone with more SEO knowledge than myself might have a little bit better insight, but with your masthead image maybe you should convert that into an image for just your mark, and key in the contact information via HTML. Of course you'd probably have to ditch the font, but doing this will most likely increase the chances of someone looking for a designer in Pittsburgh to find you quicker.

The other thing, your links aren't jumping out at me. Yes I can find them, but I think they could pop out a little bit better. However, the fact that you have a huge link to your PORTFOLIO dead center, this should engross the viewer right away...I'd still look into the links though.

Thanks for the crtis. I'll try changing the masthead from an image to HTML, so it's more readable. Also, I'll change the link color from orange to white, that might make them pop more. Looking forward to more comments, not only on the website, but the work within.

Thanks!
Aaron
