Hi ppl,
Could someone please let me know... (any amount of information is welcome!) : using InDesign to create a program, then creating a .pdf how do you keep layers? I heard something about being able to have a layered pdf which can turn various layers on and off (and allowing the off layers to not be printed).
Any ideas on how you do this? Thank you!

Not something I know how to do, but it would definately be useful. Hopefully if it can be done someone here knows how to do it. I'll have to watch this thread myself, because now I'm curious as well.

I have taken a few courses on Acrobat Pro. I have never heard of this option but it would be cool.
Anyone

I don't think its possible, however, if you open a .pdf in Illy you can 'turn off' or 'Turn on' the active layers.

Yes! You can save InDesign layouts as a PDF with layers. It's a new feature in InDesign CS and it is super simple to use.
While in InDesign, go to 'File' - choose 'PDF Export Presets' - and then choose '[Acrobat 6 layered...]' near the bottom of that flyout menu. It's as easy as that. Of course make sure that you have deleted any unwanted layers and/or you have your layers set up so that when you do export as a PDF the view can turn the correct layers on and off. All they will need to do to view the different layers is go to the 'layers' tab on the side menu in Acrobat. It is a great feature and comes in really, really handy.
