These are two of what seems like a million pieces currently in development. The client's current marketing materials are outdated and simply not appealing. The client represents assisted living facilities and adult homes. These pieces are geared towards administrators, residents and potential residents. Overall, I feel good about the direction of the redesign thus far.

Any thoughts, comments and critiques are definitely welcome!

I have a couple of ideas for you but otherwise the site looks really nice. Good job!

1) The navigation all seems to run together. Try reducing the font size a little and spreading them out.

2) I would move the member login to the top somewhere and make it a smaller. If I'm a member, and depending on what resolution my monitor is set at, I don't want to have to scroll down to log-in. I want it to be right at the top of the page where I can find it.

3) In the newsletter, since you are already printing in 4-color, why not put the people in 4-color?

Just my $.02

Thanks for the feedback Idaho and TBP. We decided to go with a light blue mask over the grayscaled seniors in the newsletter because the full color shots of them competed with the color scheme a bit. As for the member log-in, the client really wanted the Latest News and Welcome message front and center. The site is designed for 800x600 so folks shouldn't have a problem seeing the log-in area. It's unbelieveable to think that their current site and newsletter has absolutely ZERO photographs of residents.

We showed them these mock-ups this morning and they dug them big time.

i think the blue/green palette is not a good choice in every part in the page as in ("latest news" in blue - the text in green OR "member log in" in blue - "contact us" in green)

Gman, I think you did a nice job with it. That's cool that they dug it. That's always the most important thing. I was also a little surprised by the login location. However, I can see the importance of wanting the news up top.

I really dig the colorful newsletter too. Really bright and happy which is important for places like this. They can tend to seem blah and dark because of the age references.

Nice work on both!!
