I was VERY proud of this shot.

I heard the train coming - and it was moving FAST! Powered up my camera, aimed at the train, and while my shutter was open, turned to follow it, trying to keep the train focused in the picture and blur the background to show the (loco) motion. (Hee hee... I did a pun!) :lol:

I know that there is an actual photography term for this, but the photo classes I took WERE eleven years ago, so I don't remember much of anything from them.

Anyway, without further ado, my "masterpiece":

thats an impressive piece of work. Good job to get the panning just right. Its a weird shot because you get a sense of movement, but its not the train thats blurred.

It's called lining em up, and shooting em down.

Yeah, it is really neat the way it is the opposite of most pictures like this that you see. She must have been panning at just the right speed to match the movement of the train. This one is getting printed and framed!!

yeh great shot! ive tried to do this a couple of times with passing cars and planes and stuff but haven't yet mastered it. i have one decent one of a plane and when i manage to figure out how to make my computer let me put pics on my thread i will show you!!! xxx
