Do it in illustrator or quark (or ID), the size is 2 X3.5 I think, give yourself a 1/16 inch (live area) on the card, and add in a 1/4 inch bleed for trimming. So final size of card is 2.25 X 3.75' with a 1/16 inch 'margin' area inside of the 2 X 3.5', if you have illustrator, then go to file>open>programfiles>illustrator>sample files> templates> bus card.eps I believe that is it, look for the template in the adobe illustrator program file basically.

It just won't be crisp in photoshop and to make changes too it will be a pain..ewwe! Save yourself the trouble and use Illus or Corel o even Quark or ID!

Yeah...and watch the 1/16' border on teh finished size...if the dude doing the cutting slips up, or the stock is cut crookedly, say bye-bye to your cards. I always go 3/16'. It gives you more room than 1/4' and it has some breething room.

What I do when I'm playing with a card, is put all the elements on the card (Name, logo, contact information, etc.), then I'll try one, with the information laid out one way, then another, and another, all with the elements in different spots. Play around with it, see which one feels the best.

and happen to have a set of cards I DID do in photoshop.. of course its almost completely graphics and a big telephone number .. but they ROCK. It just depends on what you are trying to accomplish....

I agree just bang them out in Photoshop. Make the dimensions 2.65 x 3.25 and pull out your guides add your bleed and design till you hands fall off. Just don't resize anything. And keep your fonts as fonts don't rasterize it or you'll get that jiggy effect so many amatures achieve.

Good Luck!
