Just registered here today, looking for a little information. I noticed a couple of posts here asking about what laptops are good for design and such. The desktop I have now is archaic (20 gb hard drive and a 3dfx Voodoo 3 graphics card...http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/frusty.gif) and I am looking for a mobile solution. I've read in a couple of video game mags that the Toshiba Satellite P25 and smaller P15 are good notebooks, but I just want some objective assurance from people who have had experience. Which one is better, if either one is good at all?

Just a couple of notes; I don't care about battery life since I'll virtually be plugged into a power source all of the time, screen real estate isn't that big of a deal to me (believe it or not) and 60 gb hard drive is the minimum I want to work with.

I've never owned one, but they seem to be good notebooks. They are becoming popular.

I personally have an HP and I haven't had any problems.

If you are looking for a good deal on a notebook I suggest you try Tiger Direct (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=17). And here is an excellent deal on a Toshiba Satellite P25 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=715239&sku=T24-S250).

Thanks for the reply. I checked out the link, though, and that seems to be a different laptop. Thankx anyway...seems alright, though. I'm at the point right now I'd give my left nut for a laptop to replace my outdated desktop, so I'd take a Gateway at this point...maybe that's a stretch.

You'd regret getting a Gateway.
