Ok.. this is the phone on my desk.. I had some free time, and, um... drew the phone on my desk. Made in photoshop.
Not really looking for critiques, its embarassing enough that I found time to make this and I won't be spending another second on it.

I think you should move all the buttons one point to the left and the red button should be on the other side and I would change the INTER_TEL font to comic sans and oh yes the cord, where's the cord? http://home.comcast.net/~rnick9/koolsmiley.gif

That's pretty sweet. Looks almost like a 3d rendering.

It looks like it's floating also. You have a floating phone? SWEET!

lol, I knew someone would point it out. The front part actually does float. The base behind it holds it up.

Another fun part of this was keeping anyone in the office from seeing it, as they would immediately recognize it and be like "wtf?"

I thought it was 3D at first - probably would have still thought it was if you hadn't said you did it in PS...

Well done Panda. A lot of work in it - can you tell us how long it took you? - I suggest you forget the cord.. (anyone can see you use a cordless hover-phone!)

I would change the INTER_TEL font to comic sans

Not sure if Kool is actually having you on about using Comic Sans - (most designers know there is a whole movement associated to Comic Sans haters - bancomicsans.com etc and even Vincent Connare who designed it for Microsoft objects to how it is used incorrectly - read http://www.microsoft.com/typography/links/news.aspx?nid=2648)
Only ever use it for how it was intended - (phone branding is not one of them).

Comic Sans walks into a bar. The barman says "we don't serve your type here."

That's why I got the office cubbie in the far back corner. So I can be left the hell alone to get my work done and then play. Most ppl in my office are too dense to know if it's a customers art or not.

(Brackets) - you'll come to realize that Kool was totally pulling Panda's leg on that one. There is no way you could have that many posts around here and not know about the uprising against Comic Sans!

OK I was kidding about the comic sans but I was serious about moving all the buttons 1 point to the left. If you did that it would be the perfect cordless floating phone. Right now it just looks amaturish. I think you should do 50 sketches like it is now, then do 50 more sketches 1 point to the left and you'll see what I mean. ;)

Thanks for the welcome Kool and thanks also Neuro for the insight into Kool, (I did suspect he was "Using Umour") expertly confirmed when he suggested Papyrus!

I may be new and not know the personalities here yet but I know the font jokes (or joke fonts).

Times keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' into Futura
