Hi.

Back again for more advice.
This was a quickie for new home site - less then a day. I place them on an entranceway sign to help the builders get a feel for wht the logo might look like when applied to a sign.

Any comments appreciated.

I think I like number four the best.

Four or Five for Me. Four for the sign, and five for letterhead. Excellent work.

i reckon five.

it seems to work best in both applications and it gives a nice sense of refined calm but without being dull. I think it will also last the longest (ie it won't date as quick).

I would have to say I like 1 and 5 the best. More favoring on 5 than 3 though.

IMHO, 3 is the best.

Definitely not 2 or 6.

1, 4 and 5 are OK.

#3 is not my favorite design - but it is the one with the greatest readability. The word "Glen" just doesn't work in the selected script for me - especially when someone might try to read it from a car driving by signage.

i guess jeff's book has made some sort of impression on me because i was going to say the same thing (it could be that i was in the sign business for 15 years but i'll give jeff the credit)

i think if you changed the script up and made it nice & bold 4 or 5 would look great

Wow.

I wasn't expecting to wake up this morning to so many replies. Thank you all.

I like three and five myself. When I first told of the need for the logo, it was suggested that i use a scripty font. I must confess, I hate using script fonts. In certain instances of course I use them, but in general, I stay away. I too think they can be hard to read.

So for these I tried a mix.

I have very little experience in the sign business. I guess I should probablly arrange to speak with our vendor and ask them what works best for them when creating a new logo that will eventaully be used on a sign.

I wish I had more time to work on these. It will be interesting to see what the builder picks.

Hahahahaha, more painful than interesting! They will pick the one you hate the most.

Yep, so my advice would be to not show them that one. Sometimes you got to kind of "guide" your client into picking the one you want them to pick. ;)

I've had that happen twice before! I guess because they expect several choice and I suualy have limitied time tio come up with the design, I get desperate and include the ones I'm not so fond of...I'll learn one of these days.
