wait to buy?

Would it be best to wait until macs have the new intel chips to buy one?
I was trying to get one as soon as possible to practice on for my senior year of high school. I have never used a mac, so i wanted to get used to one before i head to college. I havent heard much of the intel chips with macs. Would they make a significant change to performance?

yes. i recommend that you wait. It is also possible that because of the new chip architecture, you may be able to run x86 applications on your mac!
