Just type photoshop tutorials or photoshop interface tutorial into Google. And never use Times New Roman on a web site.

Welcome to the forum!

You can check out the links on the top of the forum specifically Tiemdesign. They have alot of tutorials. Also check under resources you'll see alot of things related to tutorials and other usefull things you might want.

We need more programers around here so hopefully you can contribute.

why not collaborate on a few projects with a designer? i had a partner who was a programmer once (i hate, Hate, HATE it) and he taught me a lot, just by telling me what i needed to consider when designing for the web (way back when frames were supastylin). if you haven't got a creative bone in your body, you can learn the software and still suck. the only way to know is to try and i think the fastest, most productive and revealing way to do that is to buddy up. or go to a really good school.

have fun! :)

greetings, earthlings. take me to your dealer.

Illustrator CS is nice for designing. Photoshop is only really good for photos / bitmap work, in my opinion.

The only thing I use Illustrator for is logos.

Heh, I really do want to learn to design w/ CSS as soon as humanly possible. I browse off MSIE 5 @ work, and I find it funny that these CSS sites that get so much praise here don't work in IE5. I know that can be easily remedied by some tweeking, but it just makes me chuckle... when I view www.csszengarden.com, the text on the top 3 paragraphs does not wrap correctly... oh well... bleh. =P

i agree ryan, but most people browse with some version of ie. to be more precise, it's our clients and their customers who browse with ie, so you have to do what the customer wants, unfortunately.

in regards to the topic, i'd recommend you dive into photoshop tutorials focusing on web layouts. there's bunch out there so you shouldn't have any problems finding them. i do not recommend using illustator for anything other than logos and illustrations. freehand however, is excellent to work with if you are developing sites with flash.

just another thought, uncle carbunkle mentioned collaborative work and i highly recommend it. i work with a programmer. this way you can focus on what you're good at.
