Firefox 1.5 is now available for download. They also have a new site, www.mozilla.com (http://www.mozilla.com/) (mozilla.org has different information).

Here's what's new in Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox) 1.5:
Automated update to streamline product upgrades. Notification of an update is more prominent, and updates to Firefox may now be half a megabyte or smaller. Updating extensions has also improved.
Faster browser navigation with improvements to back and forward button performance.
Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs.
Improvements to popup blocking.
Clear Private Data feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut.
Answers.com is added to the search engine list.
Improvements to product usability including descriptive error pages, redesigned options menu, RSS discovery, and "Safe Mode" experience.
Better accessibility including support for DHTML accessibility and assistive technologies such as the Window-Eyes 5.5 beta screen reader for Microsoft Windows. Screen readers read aloud all available information in applications and documents or show the information on a Braille display, enabling blind and visually impaired users to use equivalent software functionality as their sighted peers.
Report a broken Web site wizard to report Web sites that are not working in Firefox.
Better support for Mac OS X (10.2 and greater) including profile migration from Safari and Mac Internet Explorer.
New support for Web Standards including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6.
Many security enhancements.

Is there any way to get the drag and drop links to a new window like Maxthon has? You basicly click and drag the link, then release to have it open to a new window. Just curious if this is possible in FF or if there is a plug in to be able to do this. Would love to know...

I know Opera does it. I've never really wanted to do it in Firefox. You can just hold ctrl and click the link to have it open in a new tab.

Neuro, clicking the scroll wheel button on links will open them up in new tabs. Don't suppose that's an easier way of what you're referring to, unless I'm thinking of something else.

Does it wipe out your bookmarks when you upgrade?

No, Kool. Your prefs are all saved in a seperate file, so the new version will be able to locate them automatically. (At least on a Mac. I assume PC works in a simialr fashion.) Thanks for the update, Ryan!

My theme isn't supported on 1.5 yet. :[

Yesss, they finally have a "right click, copy to clipboard" function. That comes in handy sometimes, and it was really annoying to have to save the file first.

They have always had the "Save Link Location" in the right click menu.

Yeah, but that didnt copy images.
But "Copy Image Location" did. Or was that not in previous versions? I get Firefox and Opera mixed up sometimes.

I thought about posting this on it's own News thread, but it's appropriate here since this works on 1.5.

For those of you who love your tabbed browsing, and like the mouse-over tab preview to be a little bit more impressive than a simple text description, the following link leads you to a plug-in that gives you a quick screenshot of the tabbed page...pretty damn cool I must say, although you can still simply click it to see it. You can set the dimensions to the image preview size.

Thanks, Ryan.
I just wish someone would write a more flexible bookmarks manager.

I've just been blasted with more pop-ups since I downloaded version 1.5 a half hour ago than the entire time I downloaded FF to begin with. What the hell?
