ok i have an IT/Flash/design job, its a little of everything which is cool. My question is how much typical work do you do in a day?? I.E., do you whip out 16 flash banners a day or just 1?? I need some feedback to see if I work too slow or about average. I feel sometimes like the idea process can be hard every now and then.

sit down and ask your boss if he thinks your speed is adiquit (spelling?).
also try looking at it from a different perspective, think about how much you get paid and multiply that by how long it takes you to get a banners done... now would you pay someone that sum for the banner you just did? if so, your in good shape.

just remember creative won't always be there, some days you won't be as productive as other days... but people in this field usually know this and are understanding.
some days i can spit out 3-4 creative full page Magazine Ads like it was nothing, other times it could take me almost the whole day just to knockout one...

It really depends on my mood and/or how tired I am. Some days I'll knock out a dozen or so small site changes, or a newly coded website or site redesign along with a few solid changes... other days, I'll only get a couple changes off my plate. It really just depends on the day...

I have adult ADD, so it can be pretty tough some days to motivate myself to do much more than browse forums and email friends... it's tough, but I do it... I think I need more variety in my work. You can only keep a creative edge for so long when designing wesites for heavy machinery dealers and big-rig truck dealers... Especially when all of the customers want their sites to look the same:

Trucks - Black, Red, and Silver. Chrome faux 3d buttons. Diamond plate pattern. Starbursts *shudder*
Equipment - Black, grey, 'CAT yellow' Grainy, poorly shot images of construction sites/equipment/attachments. Starbursts....

I think after I graduate, I may go back to community college and get a second AA degree... or just take some classes for prepress and maybe some PHP/ASP/Flash/JavaScript... *shrug* Maybe it's time to broaden my horizons a bit... Too bad the IT field is so saturated... I could see myself dipping into that as well...
