This has always bugged me, and it's time to change it for good, but I can't figure it out. How do I set the default units to inches, instead of picas?

I have to change it every time I start a new document, and it gets on my nerves.

This has always bugged me, too. I can't figure out how to make the changes stick for good.

You have to make the changes in your preferences with no document open.

Heh heh, I gained this wise knowledge by typing "default" into the help search. :D

Most applications will let you set the defaults to your liking as long as you don't have an open document (I'm guessing my favorite - Publisher - won't do it...darn).

is there a way of setting the document measurments as cm or mm and the baseline grid measurments as points? - i've found i have to keep swaping throught preferences depending on what i am doing with the page.
