I decided to start a new feature here in the Friday post. 'The Quote of The Week' This week the honor goes to our own newly minted moderator Keyare. it was buried in an obscure Corel thread and I'm sure some of you haven't seen it.

I can't believe it's still there and nobody snapped it up! I will be the QuarkMaster! A Quarkaholic, The King of Quark, The Quarkinator and then I will send you signs in Quark and call you a Mr. McNastyPants because you can't use my Quark files even though EVERYBODY who's ANYBODY knows that EVERYBODY uses Quark!
THEN! After my first logo, I might have enough left over to buy Photoshop! Or I might have to do a second logo to pay off my student loan and my car and maybe a few alimony payments - but I might still have enough left over for Photoshop! And boyo boy imagine what I could do to you with THAT program! I'll be able to make Buttons! I will put buttons on everything. Posters, business cards, LOGOS! I will be the 3D ButtonMASTER! A buttonoholic, the King of Buttons, the Buttonator!
Incidentally I was at Best Buy last night and they had a copy of Printmaster Platinum featuring eleven fonts for $19,99. I'm going to save up for it because I want to have women bathe my feet with olive oil too. /emoticons/cool.gif

After a nice relaxing week at home of cleaning, sleeping in, drawing and resume tweaking I think I'm ready to venture out next week. I will be off to post resumes like a mad woman. I've mapped out at least 10 places I want to go into and personally drop off resumes. The rest of the resumes I will email or fax to places that have put an ad in the paper, should they catch my eye Monday morning.

Speaking of killing bad people. Is Doom 3 ever going to come out. I have a soft spot for this game because it was the father of the First Person Shooter genre. Compared to the games now it's pretty lame But back then in the early 90s we had never seen anything like this. I can still remember sitting in the dark with my smokin 486 with 4 megs of ram and a 14' monitor and playing this game. I can remember the hairs on the back of my neck literally standing up as I inched around a corner having no idea what cool monstrosity was going to come charging out at me.

I didn't care for Wolfenstien much but I loved Duke Nukem. I even designed a couple of home made levels for it. Loved the strippers.

I loved Doom. Gotta admit the last video game I played was 'Rise of the Triad'. Almost exactly like doom, but goofier with shroom mode (you're stoned) and dog mode (you run around abd bite people) and BFG's (big pankakeing guns). Over a network. Much artificial gore. I think I still have Castle Wolfenstien on floppy. And I definitely have Doom : )
Duke Nukem was cool. Never rally got the hang of all the bouncing around. I have a hard time thinking in 3D. : (
I get lost easily. My GF doesn't - she just pretends it's a mall.

No not really although I have played around a tiny bit with visual basic in like excel and access. On the Duke 3D CD it had a build program. It was cool you lay it out in an autocad type interface and then go into 3d mode and raise and lower walls and ceilings and add monsters and stuff and then shading. It was a lot of fun. If you ever see a CD in the bargain bin somewhere buy it. It's worth it just to play around with build.

Love first person shooters...Quake was good too...only game to ever get the hair up on my neck and arms was Aliens VS Predator. As a marine, nothing is worse going down a tunnel with red strobe lights going on, and all of a sudden your motion tracker starts picking up movement...beep, beep, beep...the beeps start getting closer and more intense as whatever it is moves towards you. I glance down to see the range...25 meters, 23 meters, 18 meters... my thumb is hovering over my left mouse button, waiting to unload a burst of caseless ammo. My breathing is now in short, quick spurts as my eyes are wide, looking for the tell tale movement....15 meters, 11 meters, 9 meters...It's close...then, I can hear something. A faint, but distinct screech, like metal being twisted and then merging with a loud hiss. 7 meters, 5 meters...BRIIIIAAAAAAPPPP!!! The pulse rifle screams in fury as I start to $hit my pants as I can't see anything...and then....
