Right then pros i hope you can all, (or at least one of you), be of my assistance. I need to know how you guys create those professionalright angled linesthat appear in each corner of your deisgn when youve printed it. I knows thatsnot very clear, but its basicly those lines that show thesize and edge of the document without having to puta border around the design. If youre still confused then soz but I dont know the technical term, (if there is one). Please help!

so, first thing I'D do is go to help and do a search - they've got some pretty clear advice in there. it's pretty easy though. you can select what you want to print with the selector tool ('marching ants') go to file > print with preview, then select 'print selected area. also, play around with the registration, corner and centre crop marks options. it won't show them on screen, but experiment with your printer and you'll see what's going on.
hope that helps.

I never print out of photoshop or Illustrator, They are image and drawing programs. The best way to get accurate crops is to set up a doc in Indesign or Quark (or whatever page layout program you choose) and use the crops it makes when you go to print. The next choice of mine would be to use Illustrator like you said!
Hows England doing?

Yeah, but in Quark if you want your crops to appear IN the document (like we do when printing large) ya gotta beg, borrow or buy ItemMarkz for Quark cuz the program is too stupid to think you'd ever want em ON the doc set up.
If using Illustrator, use Filter>create>trim marks. Don't use the Objects>crop marks>make.

Well you can use em if you want...
Like my sig says, for large format it may be different.
When you use Object>crops>make the object you selected to 'crop' vanishes when the crop marks appear.
Sometimes you don't want that to happen (like if it's a circle outline that I am using as a die cut path) and there is an option to use the Filter>Create>trim marks is all. I can always get the shape back by releasing the crops too, most times.
Edit, Oh yeah and crop marks don't move once you make em. Ya gotta release em. Trim marks move if selected. Handy.
