Having a problem printing to my Apple Laserwriter 4/600. Light on the printer blinks, print monitor window shows the file spooling, then nothing.

I can print to my HP 1220C without any problem.

I'm also able to print from any other program to the Laser Printer.

Anyone have a clue? Any help will be appreciated.

If you start a new file, can you print a simple line of text from ID to the laserwriter?

OK. Opening the new doc and creating one line of text worked to
the Laser printer.

Still can't get anything else to print to that printer.

Are you getting a postscript error from the printer?
I've only seen this once or twice on an Apple Laserwriter 630. If we restarted the mac the doc would still be in the spool and it would either print or we'd get a postscript printer error message. Had to reset the printer by shutting it off for over 30 seconds. Seemed to clear it up.

Is your CS doc set to Postscript level 2?
I don't think the 600 can handle level 3.

Documents are set to Postscript Level 2. Same problem.

Document spools, printer light blinks indicating its receiving, then nothing. Printer stops blinking and nothing comes out, and no error message.

Would deleting the ID preference file help?

no...sounds like a postscript error anyway. what are you printing? does it have an pics in the doc?

Various documents. Some have Tiffs, Illustrator EPS files. All have postscript fonts, Absolutely NO TRUE TYPE.

Can you do a print preview and see if anything is showing on the page? The only other time besides a postscript error that my printer spools without printing is if the page is blank for some reason.
Why you can print the same file to a nonpostscript printer but not the laserwriter is puzzling.
Unless the file is too large for the laserwriter onboard memory?
I dunno.
