Hi Guys

I'm sure this is a stupid question but I've never had to do this before.

I'm working on a two colour job, (274C and black) but I need to create a gradient going from 100% 274C to white but won't this make it a four colour job? So how can I solve this problem?

I spoke to my print guy but he wasn't much help, so I'm in your hands, many thanks.

BTW I'm using Illy CS1.

If 274C is defined as a spot color in Illy, it will just gradually screen back that ink to "nothing" or "white". I'm assuming this is 2 color for print on white paper?

If you select pantone white as a colour, yes it will separate as a third colour, but if you make the gradient go from 100% to 0% PMS274 - then it will only be the 2.

Just make a standard black and white gradient then drag the spot color into the slider and drag the black out.

So you are left with white and your spot.
