Most commands and functions in InDesign are graphic-based. Look for the little icons on the top bar of the page. They change depending on whether you have the text or objext tool selected. Somwhere on there (I think with the text box selected and the black arrow active) there will be a set of small icons near the right hand edge of the top bar which show text at the top, bottom and centre of the a box.

you can use quark shortcuts in ID

go under Edit... WAY at the bottom it says keyboard short cuts. that should help the transition.

make text center (top/bottom) of the text box? how? This is easily done.

1. Right click on the text frame
2. Select "Text Frame Options" - this will bring up the "Text Frames Options" Box
3. The 4th section down, "Vertical Justification" will allow you to do what you want.

I think that this answers your question regarding making the text centered from top to bottom in the text box. As far as an Quark shortcuts, I don't know, because I don't use the program, but I do know that ID has many shortcuts that are very easy to use and catch onto.

Good luck!

btw... I love InDesign!
