Why should I give up my money for the most highly paid individual in the company when he doesn't give a rat's a-- about anyone else? I would rather take the money somewhere that is feeding homeless people (not the rich ones) or helping people in some other way than wasting it on him. If asked about it, I will tell them some of the things I donated to in the past month and they will have to live with it. I am here because of the job I do, and because of the job I, and others, do, he will get a big fat bonus at the end of the year, while we are gathering up more money to give him something? I think not! I may be an idiot, but I'm not stupid!

I didnt get my boss anything. Maybe because I have like 4 of them and I don't know any of them very well. Oh, and I'm also so poor I didnt even get my wife anything.

We always chip in and get a gift card or something. I think someone gets the male owner of the company a bottle of booze too. Usually, we all put in $20.

nope. considering work haven't even stretched to a christmas do for us (not even a round of drinks down the local) this year, i will definitely NOT be giving my boss a pressie! (last year we had quite a good do at the dog-races, with a meal and a couple of rounds of drinks paid for)

but our boss did buy us (the 3 designers in our office) breakfast today... a bacon and mushroom sarnie from the grasy-van down the road... wow. (and that's one EACH, not one sarnie to share...)

well i'm my own boss...so
i think after Christmas when stuff goes on sale i'm going to either get my boss a new notebook (computer type not just some paper) or a tablet (again the computer type not just some paper) when all the end of year stuff is paid & i see how much i can spend i'll be looking to all of you to help me deside.

I hate my boss (so does everyone else I work with), why the hell would I get her a gift? Then again, I only work in a crappy deli at the most unsuccessful grocery store in town, so watcha expect I guess.

The design company I work for is very small. I mean very. Hiring me makes three. But it's a very profitible business and the atmosphere is laid back. The boss and the other guy have been friends for years and they have been very accepting of me, the new guy. I brought in a present as a thank you for the Christmas dinner he'd paid for the week earlier, and there were presents from both of them waiting in my chair. A $50 certificate to Best Buy, and Half-Life 2 for PC. Not bad. Not bad at all.
