Come on. He's hundreds of years old and still sporting the bear with red fuzzy clothing. He was made over when he went from St. Nicholas to Santa, but I think the jolly old elf needs a more stylish look. Trim the beard, less carbs, maybe a power tie. Why not? Its not like he's making mega pixel cameras in that workshop. UPGRADE CLAUS.
Before all you neigh-sayers tell me of the dangers of messing with a classic (new Coke wasn't terrible, just different), I'd like to think bring up that the Santa we know today is only about 50 years old. The red suit, boots, hat, etc.. Personally, I like the robe, holly wreath headband hippie santa from the 1800s. What do you guys think?

yeah, he was actually designed by an illustrator for coca-cola. i think he could use a make over. I like the european, "Father christmas" santa, personally. http://www.vampyra.com/xmas/images/fatherXmas-deer.jpg

nawww... i think this whole santa bs needs to fade off...lol
really, how disappointed were you when you found out he wasn't real?
i was pretty up set, not to say i 100% believed in him, it always seemed a little fishy. it was more like..
"damn, what the hell was the point of the guy if he wasn't real? and why the hell were my parents telling me he was real and make me sit on some guys lap every year?"

So you're suggesting we don't make him over, but just ditch him entirely? Hmm. I'll go for it. He'll need a kind of replacement though. Santa is like Mickey Mouse, a merchandising gold mine. Think of a good replacement.
We can not get rid of Santa. The end. :)

That is the soul of the old santa - before he stopped giving gifts to children, and started giving gifts to all the naughty girls. Come over here girls and unwrap the biggest present you have ever seen ;)

He's still a married man! I said makeover, not a divorce.

It's a marriage strictly for show. He's clearly a gay male. Red crushed velvet suit trimmed with ermin? No straight man would be caught dead in that.

I'll be interested in seeing what christmas is like in 30 years. Everything is getting so commercialized, yet politically correct. It'll probly be illegal to mention 'christmas' or display an image of santa claus.

No, he'll just be dressed in half red, half blue, and he'll have a veil over his face. And the holiday will be christmachanuramakwanzaadon.

I heard Happy Christmas the other day... WTF is Happy Christmas and where did that come from? Its MERRY CHRISTMAS, Happy Hanukkah, and so forth... right?

Just think of the mess, for Christmachanuramakwanzaadon?
Print that on a holiday card. I would be worried more about correct spelling, than design.
Edit* Happy Christmas comes from the other side of the world. from UK to Australlia, we in the US are messed up with traditions :( sad though.

OR you can go with: Festivus Christmachanuramakwanzaadon, instead of saying "Happy/merry" at the beginning. :)
Edit*
"Come join us at the Festivus for the Rest'of us at Festivus Christmachanuramakwanzaadon!"
Dont think you can get any more PC.

Because its a big mean bully! That picks on the simple things/enjoyments in others lives. Usually pressed upon others by the ones who are not ejoying those simple things/enjoyments in there own lives. Dispicable!

It's far too rampant. Did you know the original lyrics to the bridge of "The Christmas Song" were "........tiny tots with their eyes all aglow, will find it hard to sleep tonight. They know that Santa must be gay. Nobody who was straight would ever dress that way!"
