hello

i am just wondering if this is the main graphic forum that people use, or if there are other forums you frequent (pertaining to the field of graphic design/visual communications/computer graphics/ 3d animation/or related)
?

thank you - jason

oh and as for me, there is one forum i went to that didnt do too much for me personally, no offense, so i wont list that one

but ive also been going to the about.com graphic design forum at:
http://graphicdesign.about.com/mpboards.htm

no one replied to my posts there, and i personally have a hard time with the forum navigation as im not used to it, no offense meant at all, sorry for anything bad

people seem to frequent there though so it doesnt seem to be a bad place

for computer graphics and animation i go to

www.cgtalk.com

also
www.elysiun.com which is really more just for the free 3d software blender found at blender.com or blender.org, not sure which one

ok thank you - jason

There is a great group of people on the About graphic design forum in my opinion. Thing is, it's the holidays -- so people are busy. Forums tend to slow down on the weekends and holidays. (I agree with the navigation thing though, that takes some getting used to. They are very helpful if you post in their introductions section if you have any questions about that.)

How is also another forum for professional graphic designers.

And of course, the GDF.

All of these forums have their own personality, strengths and weaknesses. It just takes some time to figure out which community you feel most comfortable in. A lot of people are members of one, two, or all three of these.

I am not really familiar with any other forums. I know they're out there, but I've never found any to be as active as these three.

The GDF is great. A nice pool of talent, no AOL speak chat room kiddy siht, and answers. I love it. I also post on my forums, but it's a really small community with maybe 5 active members. A nice range of talent there though. Other than that, I frequest the Creative Convention at the arful forums. IMO there is not better place on the internet for quality posts and intelligence, not to mention some of the most talented artists I have seen.

Very well put EC! I think this is very true.
