Five years and a month, and finally it's over. I don't know how many people stay with a company that long, but I'd imagine not alot. Whatever, all I know is that my blood pressure can only go down now.
After a night like tonight, I feel even better about my decision. Nasty customers. You'll have that with last minute shoppers, but it still is irritating how sarcastic and rude people can get during this time of year. Everything is all about themselves.
Well, it's getting late for me. "Merry Pancakeing Whatever" everyone!!!

Did you chant the infamous "last words" before you walked off the job?
"Your mom's box." :D

Nope. Left on a good note. Supervisor told me that I'm more than re-hirable if I had to come back...let's hope it doesn't come to that.

congratulations on taking the high road, reuber. I bet it was tempting not to, but it's best not to burn your bridges. Good for you!

I'm working full time at a tech support job I got about four months ago, and actually have been working both jobs up until last Saturday. I needed to get out of there, badly. This job is far more laid back, though the pay still stinks. However, it's enough for me to afford an apartment in town...sweet! More freedom! Eventually I'm going to start freelancing doing mostly web work on the side, and later I'm hoping to move into print, but there's alot I need to know about printing/pre-press first. After a while I would like that to become a full-time deal.

Well Reub, if you are looking to get out of Iowa and into print, i will keep my eye open with my contacts down here. I have several, but mostly all I have right now is flash/web work through a friend of mine.
