The scanner is working a little too well and picking up every little dot from the printing process...Do I have to use certain settings when scanning, or blur the images a little or something? I've been scanning them at 600dpi and had "increase sharpness" turned off and "scratch removal" to medium...thanks

Sometimes scanning at an angle may help out. The trick I always used was to scan at a ridiculously high dpi, then use the Gaussian blur option in Photoshop to fill in the gaps, then size down to the dpi/size you want to use.

Sometimes scanning at an angle may help out
at 7 degrees
Then, scan at least 3 times higher resolution at the same dimensions, slight guassian blur, reduce DPI, sharpen if needed.

Your scanner software should have options to scan specific types of images, i.e. magazines, newspapers, reflective surfaces, etc. Scan for magazines and it should automatically blur the dot pattern from the 4/C printing.
