I need help in pricing a project I'm doing. Usually, I charge by the hour on simple projects like flyers or whatever..but this project is a little different, and I don't have experience in pricing. This client wants me to do 3 things for her, so I want to give her a package price.

I will do:

A logo
A postcard/mailer
A business card design

(3 different concepts for each)

Now, she was referred to me by my ex-professor, so she knows I just graduated. She initially wanted a student to do the job for her but my professor convinced her I was good for the project. So I can't give a very expensive price, but I dont want to go to low either. Can you guys suggest some prices?!

Thanks

what do you normally charge per hour? how much time do you think you will invest in it? For identity it ranges from 1500 to 5000 maybe more depends on client and specs of job

How many hours of work is this for you? Also present it in pieces...logo first, then worry about the other two items. now i would say that even as a student you need to understand you are a professional, you have a degree, so you command a certain wage. That you need to figure out, I have a nice round number for my time, but I dont really like to share that in public.

you can look at your competition...logos can be lowballed from logoworks for 299, or much higher at 3000, find your happy medium.

Business cards, charge differently, include printing in your price if you like. Same with postcards.

A very rough ballpark...I'd be happy to charge 1k all told, but thats just me considering my own hours it'd take, since your including 3 concepts on each I'd prolly up it too 1.5k

rough estimates

Sorry, it's illegal in the USA for members of a profession to discuss price. (I know, I didn't believe it either, but it is)

course all my numbers originated from Uranus, somewhere in deep space, and bear no real relevence...more you need to follow the advice of how to do pricing
