in this day and age of broadband etc... is 69k too big for a 458 x 60 pixels web banner?

I created it in flash, the flash version is 72k, also saved it as an animated gif and then optimised it in image ready... so it went from 128k down to 69k.. it still looks ok but is on the border of being really scrappy... but is the size still to big to be useable?

I'd say that's not too large of a file size. I have an animated banner made in ImageReady that's 80k and it loads just fine.

69k is definately acceptable to me, since I'm becoming less and less concerned with 56k people these days.

cool. As long as the sizing is ok, any chance on some feedback on these I've done? Is there anything you would change? anything i could have done different to make them load quicker perhaps?

Nah, that's a reasonable size, nowadays.

i thought they were a bit fast...didn't get a chance to read the info, even after 2 run-throughs...just a thought...

yeah, i'm not good with the speeds yet... they seem to run differently on my mac to the pcs we have in the office for some reason... i make them the right speed on my mac and they're a bit fast on the pcs.. ah well i'll keep trying. Thankyou Flutterby Nut. :)
