I am in the beginning stages of developing my first "real" website. I am creating it in Dreamweaver and am running into an issue that I just can't seem to troubleshoot on my own. I am trying to create a mouse-over (where the text reads "concept, design, revive") so that when the user places their cursor over each word, it displays text below it.

So far, I have managed to figure out how to create the actual mouseover by creating a hotspot in the orginal image I have placed in a table. I then created layers that contain the text to be displayed and assigned a behavior to the hostspot that displays the text. All of this is in working order, however, the problem that I am having is in relation to the placement of this "to-be-displayed" text. I gave it "absolute positioning" and a "span" tag (see page code for more info) and it still doesn't line up and remain exactly where it should on the page, in relation to the rest of the layout. Idealy, I would like for the text to show under the word "concept" each time.

As of right now, it seems to show up in that spot, but only when the browser is sized EXACTLY to the size of the web page background. If there is any white around it, it doesn't display in the correct spot.

If anyone has any tips or a solution to this problem, your help is MUCH appreciated!!

Thanks! Cathy

I'm not familiar with Dreamweaver, but you might have to place the site left justified and then give the popup box a definitive x location.

That would definitively fix the problem but if Dreamweaver has a CSS function that allows for percentage movement in overlay boxes (or whatever they're called), that would be my next guess as to how to fix it.

Yeah, I tried aligning the entire site to the left, and this does fix it, however, I was wondering if there was a way to keep the page centered and still fix this problem?

Also, if you notice, I am having trouble getting the "to-be-displayed" text to begin at the same top pixel location, even though the values are the same for each layer and I have them set up so that they can overlap each other. Anyone know why this is?

Thanks again!

Not to double post... but I thought I'd update this thread to say a friendly "nevermind." :)

I got fed up with not being able to figure it out, so I approached it from a different angle and am able to get the same results.

Thanks to those who attempted to answer my questions!

what i see now is very good
i guess u did find a way out for it
P.S: i don't know it's the final version of your site or no, but i think you should consider add navigation link at the top part of the page too ot only in the bottom, it may not be seen in (800*600) screens
