So i have a chunk of text in DW8 and i want to hit return and have the next line of text begin exactly a line below (line spacing on ccs is 11pt) but it always goes about 2 lines below and i don't see how i can get around this.
can anyone else help please?

I'm hazarding a guess that the answer can be found in the css.
I have a rule called .bodytext, where i have changes the font, size etc. i have also made sure there is a 0 next to padding, padding bottom and margin bottom.
This doesn't seem to have done anything.
what i would like is
HEADING (.header)
blah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blah
Click here for more info (.body text)
what i get is;
HEADER
blah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blah
I am far from an expert in web design but I thought a hard return will always give you 2 lines. I think you you need to use a line break tag <br>.

In Code View? MD is right, <br> tag.
Of course I am right Roobs - When am I ever wrong?

To do it more correctly use the self closing <br />

Mynock, true, true.
MD: You've got about a 3:1 wrong to right ratio.
Roober you are an idiot.
Now according to your above statement this has a 3:1 chance of being inaccurate ... But my moneys on the under ;)

More correctly? I has assumed that regular old HTML is still an acceptable form of web design, considering that it still validates and I haven't actually found a good reason to use XHTML. What is the point in using it if you aren't even going to present the page as such (application/xhtml+xml MIME type), and if you do, the most common browser can't even handle it correctly? Perhaps someone can explain why I have to make everything valid XHTML...
Excellent. In order to settle this bet take this test.

Because XHTML is going the be the standard in 9,000 years, so you better get started now.
That test is damn funny. I did horrible, but on purpose to see what it would say.
