Hey,
when i try to save images from internet i can only choose to save it as a .bmp file. How can i save it as .jpg or .gif?
It's annoying when i try to save moving gif files...
Thanks,
Brett

what image editing programs do you have installed? depending on what the files you are looking at... if they are jpg, gif or bmp, you are limited to save as ....remember that whatever is saved on the web is wysiwyg....that being said, what are you saving for? print or web? Given that you are referring to gifs, I am guessing that you are saving for web? Where are you downloading from? What are your needs? (file size requirements?)

Maybe you should ask the owner for the source image?

Thanks for the replies.
- It's with all the picture i am trying to save, every website. For JPEG its not very bad (but irritating) because i can save them to jpeg with photoshop.
This is the way I am trying to save these images to my computer;
-Cursor on an image,
-Right mouse button,
-Save as...
-On my old computer there was BMP, JPEG and GIF. Now there's only BMP.
The image editing programs are: photoshop
Thank you,
Bert
Are you using AOL as your ISP and using the built in AOL Browser ?

I think he's talking about when he saves the image to the hard disk. What browser are you using?
that's why i'm asking if you're using AOL!
I seem to remember that it only provides 1 or 2 options to save because of the way the aol browser recompresses images for faster loading.

I know a version of IE only allows to save as .BMP. Happened to me before also. Firefox will allow you to do JPEG.

If you are using Internet Explorer, i remember having that problem too.
It's a glitch within IE.
If i remember correctly, you have to delete your history file (possibly cookies as well) then re-open IE and all should be fine.

i'm using internet explorer 6.0.2800.........
Maybe a newer version of internet explorer would work.

I had this problem way back, Get Firefox, solves lots of issues.
Anyways, I deleted temp internet files, cookies and the history. That combination fixed it for me.
