Hello everyone- does anyone have any advice or suggestions for getting started as a freelance web designer? Please share your approach to potential clients. There plenty business out there for all of us :)

Personally- I've been thinking to just sending friendly emails- to people who have existing web sites? Sites I could redesign- does anyone use/or like this idea? If so do you think its more important to send them a link to my design site which shows a few samples of my work? - OR - do you think people would like to see a few samples of my work attached directly into an email- that also includes an offer and prices?

What is your approach to finding business?

Thank you- Deva

hey deva.

check out these threads: http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/?f=8&m=37083 , and http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/?f=8&m=41724

i know lots of people that are even more pissed off with being approached by email than they are by being called by sales people at home at dinner time, so be careful.

luck!

greetings, earthlings. take me to your dealer.
