OK - Here goes nothing.
My First Website (http://webpages.charter.net/cshrwd/)
It is for a small (don't tell my boss I called it that) newspaper that work for. They want a very simple site that tells a bit about the company, its publications, and offers a way in which the company can increase its circulation (by going online in .pdf format. I know, the size of the download may be a bit big... but it is the only option for us now, as we do not have the staff to update the site on a regular basis).
I created the site using Dreamweaver; images created in PS. Please - I welcome all opinions and suggestions about how to improve the site and/or comments in general.
Let me know what you think! Thx.
ALSO - I have a question about how to allow others to upload files to the site once it is up and running. PLEASE SEE BELOW!!!!</font></font>

Very nice. I think it would look better if it were centered.

Thanks for the suggestion -- I took your advice, and I agree, it does look a lot better centered.

It's fine to look at. What's all that script in the header? You might like to make the nav bar <td>'s change colour on rollover perhaps.

Not much there to critique...it's very simple and does it's job.
I used to live in st. charles too...and florissant before that, I remember seeing the Community News.

Thanks for all your thoughts. The script in the header is a behavior I applied to the two layers I have within the site in order to center the layers in the screen.... it's the only way I knew how. Prolly not the 'right' way either. ;o
I do have a question about the site though. In the near future the site will be updated weekly by two different people. All they will be doing is uploading the new edition of the paper in .pdf form. Having never done this before, I was thinking that if I simply put a starter 'fake' pdf in place of where their paper will go each week, all that they will have to do is have an ftp and upload each new file, simply writing over the file that is already there - obviously they would have to keep the name of the file the same each week when writing over the already present file. Am I on the right track? I want to keep this process as easy as possible for them. OR - do I need to write something into the site in order for them to be able to do this - such as Mambo - which I'm not even all that aquainted with? Again, all that they will be doing is uploading a new file to the site each week. Nothing else, at this point anyway.</font>

FTP would be easiest. Just tell them where to put it. Or if that is too hard for them, you could use a little PHP upload script.

Er, you don't need that kind of script to center things, it makes the page heavy.
Using CSS, put body { text-align: center; }
This will work in IE.
Then put div#mainlayer { margin: 0px auto; }
This should center the 'mainlayer' div in standards' compliant browsers.
