I can't remember the last time we flew somewhere with concerns about my digital memory cards going through airport security. Any tips and or suggestions? Does security hand check the camera and bypass screening equipment? We're traveling from Spokane to Denver and then to, don't cringe with excitement, Norman, Oklahoma  ! I know, travel destination capitol of the greater mid-west! We're going to see our newest grandbaby, Josh...grandbaby #6!!

Thanks for any hints on preserving my once in a lifetime pictures

wooohooo cool ...I don't think the cards should be in danger. If in doubt mention it to your friendly neighborhood wand waver.

Security are the wand wavers..... otherwise it's Mile High Club time...that's when you wave your wand. Time and place my friend, time and place :p

Digital cameras are fine, its the normal film you will have a problem with, the scanners are Xray machines, and depending on the speed of the film it will expose it. They send electronic equipment (computers) through them all the time. I saw it all the time, dont worry alot of people usualy wonder and ask the same thing.

I worked at the airport here in SLC for TSA for over a year.

I flew into Texas a few months ago and had no problems with my digital camera or my memory card. They didn't even open my bag! WOW! I did have to take my shoes off tho - that was pretty annoying! I guess I will be going through all that again in April...LOL

Congratulations on the grand baby! Should be a good trip!! I think your camera is safe! :)
