Great piece, I have also used colored pencils with some success. They really work great on some pieces and this is defintiely one of them.

Beautiful work! I keep leaning into the screen to try to see more detail but it doesn't work that way! If it was hanging on a wall, I'd be the one 6" away from it looking at the pencil strokes. You just nailed the facial features and perspective.

All I can do with a colored pencil is scratch my ear. That's amazing, Ire. One Love, from I and I.

Here is a portrait of Salvator Dali I did right before the BOB peice.. I love drawing portraits! This one is just regular old pencil on paper.

i've seen a lot of artwork in my life, and i've only ever met one person that was as good as this! I've lost touch with him years ago, Q, is that you lol?

they remind me of being in school when you had time to do things like this...lol
you did a pretty good job on both of them though...

Hell yeah!
I love them. Very nice. You have far more patience than I do. I can't spend more than a few hours at most on any one piece :(
It's very hard to go back to something to continue working on it

I am really happy to see the (dare I say it and show my age) old school illustration without the aid of a computer, sometimes I think I may be the only one left. Now I have to post one of my pencils later tonight when I am home.

thank you! I know my illustration skills may be pretty on point... but i still need alot of practice... especially with typography!,,, im just too much of an organic artist that I just want to draw type. I am such a beginner when it comes to design... I would like to go strictly into illustration, but im afraid of not having a steady work flow in the future... so i am crossing over into design and one day I hope to design and illustrate for my own company. (as you can see im a wishfull thinker) lol

On a related note, I got into graphic design for very similar reasons, Jriddim. I think you'll find it pretty nice over here. ;p
I do confess that I don't much draw/paint for myself anymore. Were I more well off, I can guarantee I would, but I mainly just keep in practice and save most of my good stuff for when I'm paid my worth to do it.
