Hello.

All of the work in the Showcase section has been so awesome that I was inspired to share my new site - www.sparkplugcreative.com.

I'm still in the last round of revisions, but it's aboout 95% done.

Things that will be changing in the near future pertain to the initial index page - I need to make it more interesting (still thinking of ideas).

But I just wanted to share my site and naturally, some of my work.

Thanks - I look forward to hearing what some of you think.

Dale

Here are my raw reactions to site:
Nice, clean, attractive site. Easy to navigate. Good info.
Is the enter site page absolutely necessary? The one.org link in the corner - I thought it was very progressive at first but then I wanted it to just go away. Can you limit it to certain pages? The picture on the services page (yellow with water dots) looks squished. And at the bottom of that page - I know a guy that knows a guy... how 'bout "somebody" instead of "guy"? I was slightly miffed by it and a female potential customer may get that same reaction. The little gray bar at the very top. When I first saw it I thought I had to scroll up to see something up there but it's just a little line. Impressive portfolio!! Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. You have a very strong portfolio. My only gripe with the site is the intro page. It seems very unnecessary. Everything else looks great :D

i too enjoyed your site...awesome work!...a couple nit-picky proofreading things...the phrase "we stay abreast on" should read "of"...also, on your paul rand quote...there shouldn't be a ',' after providing...

i thought your sparkler/fireworks image really resonates 'sparkplug creative'...the other images, not so much...maybe use other images of a similar 'electrifying/cutting edge' nature?...just thoughts...

again, great work...i especially liked your logos!

camp9483,

i like your intro page. i agree that it isnt necessary, but thats not really the point of an intro page. an intro page is simply an introduction. like when you open the door and invite a guest into your home. it helps transition the viewer into the website. this is a very popular, and useful, design tactic. it is used in all forms of design, not just graphic design.

i like the 45 degree white banner in the corner. however, for people like me that have a big monitor, it is well to the right of the design. it becomes its own entity and looks out of place, which is fairly bothersome.

i agree with the majority of what the other members already stated, so i wont bring it up a second time. some minor things need tweaking. but overall, a very nice site. thanks for sharing it with everyone!

To everyone,

Thank you VERY much for the feedback.

Every single comment will be take into consideration.

You know, as I was sitting there trying to develop a concept for the intro page, I DID think, "Is this actually necessary?" - but wasn't sure if just jumping right into "About" would be a little harsh..

It seems like the general consensus is that the site might be better off without it.

And I too agree that some of the images need to better relate to the concept or look and feel of the site.

Thanks again. If I can help any of you with anything, I guess you all know how to get in touch!

Keep well,
Dale

Your site is solid. Love the layout. Clean, and to the point; at least the site is to the point. I would personally get rid of the intro page. If the site were entirely in Flash, then I would say keep it there to act as a test page for Flash functionality and also to facilitate SEO. But for this page, I think what is said on the intro page can be said on the main page.

Ultimately, site visitors want to get your information and get out. Personally, I would recommend getting rid of it.

Other than that, though, I really dig the site and you have some pretty damn good work in your portfolio.

Good job. Here were my little picks:
The yellow on white head text is hard to read. (although it is early and I haven't had my coffee yet)
Your logos section: I would just put them in full on one page to scroll. I didn't like having to click on it then have a pop up. 1) it's an extra click 2) the page resets, so I have to scroll back down 3) some people may have pop-ups disabled.

That's as far as I got. Nice logos ;)

I like the clean, simple layout, and your portfolio is very strong indeed. The "Take 5" and "Penninsula" logos are really great. Keep posting!

Jason,

Thanks for the feedback - I'm blown away by how many people like the logos. Seeing how logos are my favorite thing to create, it has been very rewarding.

Keep well.
