Has anyone else heard anything about this? Am I the only one outraged by the fact that people are standing up for these "guards"? I saw portions of the video and essentially it's a bunch of grown guards beating the sh!t out of a 14 year old. So what if he was mouthing off, if he even was (not sure what provoked them to do this anyway)? In any case, a smack across the head goes a long way instead of bludgeoning him to death. Oh wait, he had sickle cell trait. OK, that's why he died. I'm sure this beating didn't help that in any case.

Yet another reason why I'll never trust anyone in law enforcement. :/

The camp is one of five in Florida that are operated by county sheriffs departments under contract with the state and serve as alternatives to jail for juveniles. Anderson was sent there for stealing a relative's car.
You get the deathpenalty for stealing a car, but you can walk free from beating someone to death.
BUT
I believe what the parents said:
Anderson's parents, Robert Anderson and Gina Jones, said their son was in good health and played basketball on his school team. They said he was murdered
I hope those 6 or 7 guards all get tried for 1st degree (worst) murder, and get the death penalty, its outragous how this countries justice system and sentencing laws have changed so much, where murder you get 5-6mo, but robbery you get close to a life sentence.
Beating a 14 year old to death.
The district medical examiner said on Thursday Anderson died of internal bleeding from an inherited but previously undiagnosed blood disorder called sickle cell trait. He said stress from vigorous exercise caused the bleeding and that there were no signs of trauma other than a bruised lip and scratches to his head
Internal bleeding usualy is caused by blunt objects smashing against the adominal cavity, thus disrupting or puncturing an organ causing "internal bleeding". My ass there where no signs of trauma, the video clearly shows him getting some serious trauma.
I hope that his parents sues the state of Florida, and pressures that state to sentence all 6 of those guards to life in prison.
I wonder how those guards would enjoy life in prison. I bet they'd be really popular with all the cool inmates.

About as popular as child-killers...oh wait. ;)
